The 1840's saw an influx of German immigrants into the southern part of the County. The original groups were Catholic peasant farmers from the Bocholt area. Share or query here for information about your German ancestors.

This list includes those who declared Prussia/ Hannover/ Saxony/ Bavaria or Holland as birthplace in Loutre Township on the 1850 census; including name, spouse, ship, land patent and hometown.
